What is a Robinson Digital Badge?
According to the Alliance for Excellent Education, “a Digital Badge is a digital credential that represents skills, interests, and achievements earned by an individual through specific online programs, courses, or projects. Badges issued by colleges and universities could serve as evidence of students’ demonstrated mastery of content.” In addition, the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation state that “digital badges are a new credentialing mechanism that is housed and managed online. Badges are designed to make visible and validate learning in both formal and informal settings, and holds the potential to help transform where and how learning is valued.”

The Robinson Digital Badges will be made available through a new digital online learning platform called “JamStir” which combines the best elements of online learning, social media, and gamification.
What is Gamification? What is JamStir?
Gamification is the use of game attributes to drive game-like player behavior in a non-game context. It is the application of the typical elements of game playing (e.g. point scoring, rules of play, competition with others, leaderboards) to other areas of activity such as education and training.
JamStir is a gamified performance improvement tool that combines the science of inspiration™, enterprise social network, and gamification in a single platform. The JamStir digital learning platform solves age-old problems involved with scaling and sustaining business critical learning and performance improvement.
